Warren Smith is highly regarded in New South Wales cricket circles as a deeply experienced batting coach. He believes in the basics of the game, discipline and hard work. In particular he stresses the importance of footwork in batting. To this end Warren has developed unique, slightly unorthodox batting drills.

Raised in Wagga Wagga, New South Wales, Warren is a level 3 coach who has worked with the Australian U17 team, the Australian U19 team and as the batting and fielding coach with New South Wales Pura Cup players. He has worked as a New South Wales Cricket Development Officer for 30 years.

Warren is renowned for being the coach of the hugely successful and entertaining Australian opening batsman, Michael Slater.
